Deeper Still Conference

I just got back from the Deeper Still Conference in Atlanta Georgia. I must say that this is the first conference of this kind I have ever been to. I love doing Beth Moore studies and have done a few retreats with just her speaking. This particular event included two other women, Kay Arthur and Pricilla Shirer. They were GREAT! The Arena was nearly packed out with almost 20,000 women who were just hungry for a deeper relationship with Jesus. I completely forgot about taking pictures so here is a link to the D.S. site you might want to check out. http://blogs.lifeway.com/blog/deeperstill/
There are pictures and a day by day journal of what it was like. There was a special surprise guest you definitely want to read about if you are an American Idol fan.
I made some new friends as about 50 of us traveled together on a bus to the event and back for the weekend. I learned a lot, cried so much my head and eyes hurt and worshiped more then I have in so long and am excited about what God is doing and is going to do in my life and in my family. I am looking forward to going DEEPER STILL with him.

Sean's Haircut

A few people (I won't say who) have been asking us when we were going to get Sean a haircut. So, we decided that it was about time to do it.

It did get pretty long this time but I loved the curls.... I got some little old ladies pretty upset with me in the salon when they told me how beautiful his hair and curls were and that I should just "leave that baby's hair be"!

I think he looks very boyish with this cut though and we both love it.....
Here are the before and after shots:

What Not To Wear....

I am working all summer while daddy is Mr. Mom! He is an excellent caregiver but does not always follow my "rules" when dressing Lily. We met at chic-fil-a for lunch today and it appears he has given the job of dressing Lily to Sean. (really)
How could I be upset, it was just so sweet to me that he tried to dress his sister. I am just surprised that she went along with it though because she usually tells me right away when something on her does not match.

You may even be thinking that this outfit looks ok to you! (daddys)

In case you can't see the picture very well......The bottoms are bloomers (green & white gingham) that belong with another outfit. The shoes are turquise and brown. Hot pink top and, ok, What??? NO BOW???? Me and this girl need to have a talk

Oh Boy! Look what daddy got Lily!

Ok! This was a while ago and I have been forgetting to share.... Lily just HAD to have the pink and purple minnie crocs...

And,I got these (for me) a few weeks ago but was too embarrased to share.....

But..... look what happened today..... shoot!

Turns out, I actually liked these. I tripped while holding on to Sean and a little girl at school and my foot just slid right out of the croc.

Just to prepare you, Lily has her eye on the Dora crocs and Sean's best friend showed up for a playdate yesterday with Spongebob ones on. Oh Please No! I will just have to make sure that Buddy does not take any trips to the shoe store alone with the kids!

Good news though, I sold a pair of Sean's at a yard sale and gave Lily's hot pink ones to sweet Abby....

"Lily-isms"

Something New!

Our daughter says the funniest things. Things that make us laugh our heads off. Some things actually amaze us and some leave us a little confused as to where on earth she may have picked them up. A good friend keeps suggesting that we make a list of them before we forget. I fear we have already waited to late and have forgotten many of the funniest ones. Well, there is no better time to start then the present right. Anyway, there are some too funny not to share so from time to time I will be posting "Lily-isms" and we hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

So let me start by posting the first Lily-ism......

"Mommy, I'm all itchy! All over my skelington." (meaning skeleton)

Happy Father's Day Buddy......

Walk A Little Slower Daddy

For My Daddy
"Walk a little slower Daddy,"
said a child so small,
"I'm following in your footsteps
and I don't want to fall.
Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they're hard to see;
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For you are leading me.
Someday when I'm all grown up,
You're what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
Who'll want to follow me.
And I would want to lead just right
,And know that I was true,
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For I must follow you."

Remember the Crocs??????

Well...... this is even worse. This is totally my fault though. I love Mr. Potato heads. Even as a child, it was my favorite thing to play with. I started collecting these for the kids a few years ago. There are 14 (I think) pictured here and still many parts & peices to do about 10 more.
We have: Cinderella, Ariel, Peter Pan, Captian Hook, Chef tater, Darth tater, Transformer, Micky, Minnie, Spiderman, Princess, Incredibles, Big pirate tater, another big tater, 4 baby taters, Disney vacation tater, Police Man tater, Mermaid lady, Teacup ride tater, Rock star tater, Photographer tater and enough parts to make a dozen other silly Mr & Mrs taters heads. Keeps me busy :)
