Our (Un)-Traditional Thanksgiving

I am quickly getting things around here ready for tomorrow......

Getting the china out and the silver polished.... This is my favorite time of year.
I have not felt myself lately and because of that I am cheating just a tiny bit. I store bought a few desserts this year. It is usually my favorite part to make them all. But, even as I think about tomorrow I can't help but get tears in my eyes. I just love Thanksgiving. Maybe it is because I did not have much growing up. My mom always made it special for us. My kids certainly have all they need so I have to try to find ways to make the Holidays extra special for them. I want them to see that there are people less fortunate then they are. They are both very tenderhearted and especially my Sean. Each year we try to do something different or have someone different over. We try to have different family members on alternate years and also a family of a different culture. We always try to have Uncle S. since he is alone.

This year we are having Uncle S. along with a Muslim family. We also have a friend who recently lost his father and is now all alone. Buddy (Thank Goodness) thought of him at the last minute and called him. He had no place to go. So now we have a table full. Just the way I like it!

Perfect setting to get my mind off of myself and onto others and Christ centered where it belongs. I hope you all have a wonderful, safe and happy Thanksgiving with your family, or whoever you choose to spend it with.
